1. Vermosh
Located in northern Albania, Vermosh is a village known as a gateway to the famous Bjeshkët e Nemuna – the "cursed mountains". This part of the country is highly popular with trekkers and mountaineers, drawn by the high peaks and panoramic views over the valley. During your hike (on foot or horseback), you can admire the Vermosh river, winding through mountainous landscapes that are snow-covered or lush green depending on the season.
2. Valbonë
In Kukës County, you'll find Valbonë. This charming small village of around 300 inhabitants is located just a ten-minute drive from Valbona Valley National Park. You can visit caves here (including Dragobi Cave), go trekking, spot numerous bird species and breathe the fresh air in the heart of vast forests. A tip?
