Citizens of European Union member states, as well as Swiss and Canadian nationals, are exempt from visa requirements for stays of less than 90 days.

Entry to the country is permitted upon simple presentation of a valid passport for at least three months beyond your planned departure date. A national identity card may also be accepted as a travel document for European citizens only.

For stays longer than 90 days, a visa becomes mandatory for all nationalities. You will need to apply for a residence permit within 30 days of arrival and provide your birth certificate as well as a copy of your criminal record. Visa applications should be submitted to the regional police headquarters in the city where you intend to reside.
